Welcome to Eagles!
Eagles class is one of four year 6 classes at Brampton Ellis Primary School. Our teacher is Mr McLeavy and we are also well supported by our teaching assistants, Mrs Walling, Ms Law and Miss Jones. Continuing the theme, which runs throughout school, our classroom ethos is Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. We promote being kind and polite to both children and adults in the class, being responsible and continuing to try our best, even when things are challenging.
Outdoor P.E. is on a Tuesday afternoon and is taught by Mr Allen – children come to school ready prepared by being dressed in their P.E. kits.
We also do regular games, such as throwing and catching, football, cricket and running during our break times.
Throughout the autumn term, a lot of our lessons are linked to the class novels of Here We Are and Kensuke’s Kingdom. From this we are also focussing on the global issue of plastic pollution.
During the spring term, the topic will be the Tudors and medieval laws and punishments. Instead of a class novel, children will study some of the works of Shakespeare.
The final topic in the summer term will be ‘World Cities’ and will later focus in on Egypt. The class novel will be ‘The Red Pyramid.’
