  • JMAT Y5/6 Cricket Competition - 30th June 2023

    JMAT Y5/6 Cricket Competition at Wath Cricket Club Well done to all the children who took part in today's cricket competition at Wath Cricket Club. For most of the children, this was their first time taking part in competitive cricket matches and they all performed extremely well. They got better and better throughout the competition and we saw some great batting, catches and fielding. Our girls team came 2nd out of 4 teams and the boys came 4th out of 5 teams.

  • Orienteering Competition - 8th June 2023

    Congratulations to all the children who took part in this evening's orienteering competition. Impressively, all 3 teams made the podium. They were up against 5 other schools from JMAT and had to use their quick thinking and map skills to work out where each checkpoint was and then their speed to find them. Our Y3/4 boys team took 2nd place, the Y3/4 girls team came 2nd as well in their category and our Y5/6 team came in 1st place!

  • Year 5/6 Boys Football - Champions!

    Champions! A huge congratulations to our Year 5/6 boys football team who are this year's JMAT football league champions. At the start of tonight's round of matches, Brampton were sitting in 2nd place in the league. We knew we'd have to perform to have any chance of winning and perform they did - each and everyone of them. Over the 6 fixtures the boys won 5 and drew 1! Not only did they all give 100%, they were also a credit to the school in the way they all conducted themselves with a respectful and sporting attitude. Well done boys!

  • Y5/6 Girls Football Team - 22nd May 2023

    Well done to all the girls who played in Monday's 2nd round of the JMAT football league (22nd May). The girls had to battle hard in very hot conditions and played well. We played four 12-minute matches, winning two, drawing one and losing just one match. Overall, we came a respectable 3rd place in the league.

  • JMAT League Y5/6 Boys Football League First Round - 18th May 2023

    Our boys team put on a superb performance in the JMAT football league first round last night. They all gave their all and represented the school brilliantly. The competition was strong. We played 7 matches and won a staggering 6 out of 7 putting BEP near the top of the league ready for next week's second round. In total the boys scored 16 goals with our keeper, Harley only letting in 2.

  • JMAT League Y5/6 Girls Football League First Round - 15th May 2023

    Well done to all the girls who represented school today in the first round of the JMAT league. Made up of predominately Y5 girls, our team stood up well against mainly Y6 opposition. They started the league well winning two, drawing one and losing only match. There were some cracking goals from our team (11 in total) and our trusted goalkeeper Skye only let in 2.

  • JMAT Multi-Sports Festival - 11th May 2023

    Yesterday, after school, some children from KS1 attended a JMAT Multi-Sports Festival at Wath Academy. We had a fantastic time and had a go at a number of different sports including: football, basketball, hockey and athletics! The children showed amazing resilience at trying different activities – some of them were really tricky. A certificate was awarded at the end for their brilliant participation. Well done KS1! 😊

  • KS1 Girls JMAT Shooting Stars Football Festival - 24th March 2023

    On Friday 24th March, a group of KS1 girls attended a JMAT Shooting Stars football festival at Wath Academy with Mrs Bramall and Mrs Hill. The girls were fantastic and took part in a carousel of activities including football bingo, the number game and crab football! There were smiles all round and all the girls were so resilient - even with a downpour of rain. Well done KS1 girls! #thisgirlcan

  • KS1 Gymnastics Event - 6th March 2023

    Yesterday, after school, I had the pleasure of attending a JMAT Gymnastics Event at Wath Comprehensive with ten children from KS1. The children had a brilliant time putting together some routinesand even trying out some of the apparatus - they were veryresilient! They were respectful and responsible at all times and were eachawarded a certificate for their participation. Well done KS1 :-)

  • Don and Dearne Girls’ Football Cup 2023

    Thursday 2nd March 2023 Well done to the girls who took part in the Don and Dearne Girls Football Cup. This was the first time these girls had played together competitively and they performed brilliantly winning two matches, drawing one and losing only one match. This was a great experience for all the girls and as the team was mainly Y5 girls, they will be even stronger next year.

  • Y5/6 JMAT Basketball Competition 2023

    Thursday 26th January 2023 Ten of our pupils took part in the Basketball competition at Wath Academy playing against 4 other schools in the trust. The team gave it their all and it all came down to the last match in a tense final. Our team won all of their first 3 matches and our final match was against Ferham who were also undefeated. In the end, we just missed out on first place but it was a fantastic team performance and well done to you all. You should be proud of yourselves!

  • JMAT Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics Festival

    JMAT Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics Festival Wath Academy Monday 16th January A big well done to the 10 Year 6 children who represented our school in the Sportshall Athletics competition. It was a great team effort and it was lovely to see them all competing with a smile and supporting one another. Each child competed in 4 running events and 2 field events (throwing and jumping) and all their scores were added together to give a team score. They were amazing and came second overall. Well done!
