Learning Support
Welcome to Wren Class
our Foundation Stage 1 class, taught by Mrs Armitage and supported by Mrs Clarke.
In Wren Class, we provide a happy, safe and nurturing environment where children can learn through play, exploration and hands-on experiences. We follow our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience, helping children to build positive relationships, develop confidence and become increasingly independent as they prepare for their move to Foundation Stage 2.

We encourage all children to have a go, celebrate their achievements and create positive relationships. We work together to create a classroom where everyone feels valued, supported and included.
The first two weeks back will focus on PSHE with the remaining topics throughout the year being linked to our understanding the world.
First Two Weeks: Settling In
During our first two weeks together, we will focus on getting to know each other and becoming familiar with our new classroom environment. We will explore:
-
Understanding and talking about our emotions
-
Classroom routines and expectations
-
Positive behaviour and making good choices
-
Respecting and accepting differences
-
Building friendships and learning to work together

Reading
In Wren Class, we love sharing stories and developing a lifelong love of reading. Reading together is one of the most valuable things you can do to support your child's learning and language development. We encourage you to enjoy books, stories and rhymes with your child at home as often as possible.
Throughout the year, we will also invite you into our setting for our "Come Read with Me" sessions, where you will have the opportunity to share stories alongside your child and experience the joy of reading together.
Our PE day is Wednesday. Please send your child to school wearing their PE kit on this day so they are ready to join in with our activities.
We also take part in Welly Wednesday, which gives children the opportunity to learn and explore outdoors in all weathers. Please ensure your child has a pair of named wellies and a puddle suit in school so they can fully enjoy these exciting outdoor experiences.
In Wren Class, we believe every child can shine. We encourage children to be curious, have a go, and keep trying when things feel tricky. Through play, exploration and new experiences, we help children develop confidence, independence and resilience.
If you have any questions or need to get in contact, please message me on ClassDojo.
