Welcome to Sparrowhawks!

 

Sparrowhawks are taught by Miss Khan and supported by Mrs Webb. We are so excited to welcome you to Y6! This is going to be an exciting and important year for us all. Year 6 is full of opportunitues to learn, grow and prepare for the next big step into secondary school. Together, we will explore fascinating topics, take on new challenges and develop the skills and confidence you will need for the future!

 

During the course of the year, we will learn about many exciting topics including: WWII, The Americas and Crime and Punishment. Alongside these topics comes great novels which we will be diving into! We promote a love of reading in our classroom as we truly believe reading is the gateway to success and will always encourage children to read as much as possible, both at school and at home. There is a book out there for everyone!

 

Our classroom ethos promotes our whole school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. In Sparrowhawks, we are a team. We will all work together to ensure all the children achieve their best both academically and socially.  

 

Our school expectations mean that correct uniform is required every day (please see the website tab for further details.) Our PE days are Monday (outdoor) and Wednesday (indoor).  Children must bring a suitable PE kit to get changed into on both days.  They will also need to bring a water bottle to school every day.

 

As a class, we believe that hard work and resilience will ensure that everyone achieves to the best of their ability. Our classroom is one where every child’s work is valued, all ideas and opinions are encouraged, and the children are given the tools and support to achieve the best that they can. We hope you will join us in encouraging your child to work hard and take pride in their work ensuring a wonder Year 6 for all!
