Our Y6 boys football team had their first competition of the year on Monday and although the rain tried to dampen the mood, the boys remained in high spirits. The team cooperated and were responsible for selecting the starting line-up. All the children showed tremendous teamwork and were fantastic representatives for our school.
Teams were split into two leagues and the winners from each went through to the finals. There was fierce competition from all participating teams and our Y6 boys won 2, drew 1 and lost 1. Unfortunately, we came second in the group so didn’t qualify for the next round, but the boys congratulated the winners and left with their heads held high.
All the children involved displayed skill, resilience and wonderful sportsmanship and should be proud of their performance.
